Congratulations to our Year 13 students at Sexey's School.
Congratulations to our Year 13 students at Sexey's School.
Our schools have been marking or planning to mark the Coronation Event in their own unique ways. Sexey’s School's Student Coronation Committee organised a variety of events including changing the school flag for the Union Jack, decorating the school with bunting, a Coronation cupcake sale and a delicious Coronation lunch in the KDR.
Haygrove School has been recognised for their Careers Programme led by Claire Morgan for achieving the highest marks available with 100% scores across the eight Gatsby benchmarks.
There were so many highlights and positive take aways from the Inset Day on Monday 20th February 2023. Support staff, primary teachers and secondary school teachers from across the trust all attended bespoke sessions delivering content aimed at supporting their roles, professional development and targeted areas for improvement.
We are delighted for the staff and students at Sexey’s School are celebrating after it was rated 'Good' in its latest full Ofsted inspection. The positive report raises the school’s education grading to ‘good’ in all five areas of the inspection framework and is the third ‘Good’ report the school has received following their Ofsted Social Care and SIAMS judgement.
Spaxton C of E Primary School and Sexey’s School, both part of the Quantock Education Trust (QET), are celebrating ‘Good’ outcomes in their latest SIAMS inspection reports. SIAMS stands for Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools and is the inspection process for Diocesan Church Schools. It focuses on the impact that the Christian ethos of the church school has on the children and young people who attend it.
Thank you so much to all of our colleagues who attended the first Quantock Education Trust Professional Development Day since the end of the pandemic and since we became a family of four schools. Having colleagues coming together from across the QET to share ideas and experiences, as well as develop our professional practice in a really supportive and collaborative environment gave us the perfect opportunity to bring to life QET’s core CARE values – Community, Aspiration, Respect and Equity. It was a joy to see these values exemplified throughout the day.
This week, Spaxton CofE Primary School were delighted to welcome Archdeacon Simon to their school. They gave him a tour of their school along with Reverend Eleanor and Co-Chair of Governors, Andrew Watson. He enjoyed visiting the classes and the children asked lots of questions about his role as Archdeacon.
One of the Quantock Education Trust's Secondary School Sexey’s School has been given a Bronze award for their work to make sure students don’t miss out on a high quality education because they are young carers. The Young Carers in Schools programme helps primary and secondary schools improve outcomes for young carers and celebrates good practice through the Young Carers in Schools Award.
In memory of HM Queen Elizabeth II, our national figurehead and longest reigning monarch.
Well done to students from Storgursey Primary School who appeared on Points West last night. They were interviewed about their amazing scarecrows that they made to go on display during the Stogursey Arts Fest 2022
Well done to our GCSE students!
