Two Somerset schools within the Quantock Education Trust (QET) are celebrating another great year of exam results for their students. Haygrove School, Bridgwater, and Sexey’s School, Bruton, both have plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Aaron Reid, Headteacher at Haygrove School, says, “We are very pleased with our results this year for our students. They have now got the official recognition of the work they have put in over the last few years. So many of our students have exceeded their expectations and that is a testament to the commitment they have shown to school life.”  

Helen Cullen, Headteacher of Sexey’s School, said: “I am so proud of the resilience this group of students have shown. They have worked hard and deserve the grades they are collecting today. This year we are celebrating the best exam results we have seen since I joined the school in 2018 and I am delighted to see the improvements within the school being demonstrated through these excellent results for our students.”

Chrysta Garnett, CEO of Quantock Education Trust praises the hard work of the school community saying, “I would like to wish a heart felt congratulations to everyone at both schools who have worked so hard to achieve these results, after a very difficult few years. Our students and teachers have shown so much spirit and determination. Sexey’s School has joined the Trust more recently and I am very excited to see the partnership between the two schools develop to provide even more opportunities for our students”    

What’s next for our students?

Helen Cullen continues, "The GCSE grades will set them in good stead for the next stage in their educational journey and I am delighted that so many have chosen to remain at Sexey’s and study their A levels with us.”

Leanne Mills, Deputy Head at Haygrove School, said, “Students are now prepared for their next steps, with many choosing to go on to further education. In the future, we would be looking to cement links with the excellent Sexey’s School Sixth Form (also part of the Quantock Education Trust). We are so happy for them, knowing that they are leaving us as confident and resilient people with so many options open to them! Good luck Year 11.”
